Morgan In Hand Division

Morgan Horse In Hand
Horses shall enter the ring and be lined up at the discretion of the judge. Entries are to be judged individually, standing, then at a walk and trot on the line and must be serviceably sound. Horses shall stand squarely on all four feet with front legs perpendicular to the ground. Rear legs may be placed slightly back, but the horse must also be judged at some time in the class not stretched. Emphasis shall be on type and confirmation with consideration given to the horse's ability to move correctly on the lead. Unnatural tail carriage should be penalized. See U.S. Equestrian Art. 2902.e and 2914.2. Not more than two handlers, each of whom may have one whip without appendages, may be allowed in the ring to show each horse. The First and Second place in each age group MUST return to be judged in their respective Championships.

Morgan Sport Horse In Hand
Horses shall enter the ring and be lined up at the discretion of the judge. Entries are to be judged individually, standing, then at a walk and trot on the line and must be serviceably sound. Horses to be judged on proper movement, conformation and manners based upon the horse's suitability to be a Sport horse. Gaits to be judged in terms of purity, quality and correctness. Horses shall stand square or in open position. The First and Second place in each age group MUST return to be judged in their respective Championships.

Carriage Driving Section
Open to all horses and pony breeds

Carriage Pleasure Driving—Working : A pleasure driving class in which entries are judged primarily on the suitability of the horse to provide a pleasant drive. To be shown both ways of the arena at a walk, slow trot, working trot and strong trot. To stand quietly, both on the rail and while lined up, and to rein back. All entries Chosen for a workout may be worked both ways of the arena at any gait requested by the judge and may be asked to execute a figure eight. To be judged: 70% on performance, manners and way of going of the horse; 20% on the condition and fit of harness and vehicle; 10% on neatness of attire.

Carriage Pleasure Driving—Reinsmanship : A pleasure driving class in which entries are judged primarily on the ability and skill of the driver. To be shown at a walk, slow trot, working trot and strong trot. Drivers shall be required to rein back. All drivers chosen for a workout may be worked at any gait requested by the judge and may be asked to execute a figure eight and/or perform other appropriate tests. To be judged: 75% on handling of reins and whip, control, posture and overall appearance of driver; 25% on the condition of harness and vehicle and neatness of attire.

Carriage Obstacle Driving: See USEF Articles 2085 and 2090. Ties for first will be decided by a drive-off. Cones will be reset for each entry. Marathon Buggies will be allowed in all carriage classes.

Walk Trot Section
Walk Jog-Trot: Open to riders who have not been judged in a class that required a canter—lope at any show. Riders in these classes may not enter any class in this show that requires a canter. Horses may enter other classes in any section, providing the requirements for that section are met. Riders are exempt from paying the U.S. Equestrian non-member fee. Entries to be shown both ways of the arena at the walk and the jog or trot. Suitability and safety are paramount and unruly horses will be excused.

To be shown under English tack at a walk, pleasure trot, road trot and canter with a light rein, but still maintaining contact with horse's mouth. May be asked to back.

77. Leadline - Sat Evening
Open to riders who are at least 2 but less than 7 years old (USEF GR103) and who are not entered in any other “horse show class” at this show. Leaders must be at least 16 years old. May be shown under Western, Hunter, or Saddle Seat tack. Safety is of the utmost importance in presentation, tack and attire, no trotting, no backing. All entries to receive blue ribbons. This is a special activity, not a “horse show class”. Riders will not be placed.
84. Open Jack Benny All Seats - Sat Evening
Horses to be shown by an amateur in any tack with appropriate attire. Riders must be 39 years or over. To be shown at the walk, trot or jog, and canter both directions of the ring. Horses may be asked to back.
122. All Breed Driving Championship - Sun PM
To be shown at a walk, pleasure trot and road trot. Horses may be asked to back. One attendant, without whip, must head each entry.

American Saddlebred Division

5 Gaited Section

Horses must be registered with the American Saddlebred Horse Assoc. or Canadian American Saddlebred Horse Assoc. They must be entered in their full registered names with registration numbers and under the names of the owners of record. A copy of the registration papers showing proof of ownership, or Certificate of Eligibility to Show Issued by the ASHA must be submitted with the entry form.

5-Gaited Open : To be shown with a full mane and tail at an animated walk, trot, slow gait, rack and canter. To be judged on performance, presence, quality, manners and conformation.
